DABAR IR VĖL ATĖJO | NOW WINTER HAS COME AGAIN |
Dabar ir vel atėjo Žiema. Pridenk Pečius tamsiom gipiūrom. Tada aš Tau Dainuosiu vėl, kaip tąsyk naktį Pėdsakus mūsų užklojo sniegas, |
Now winter has come again. Cover Your shoulders with dark lace. Then I will sing for you again, as I did that night When the snow covered our footprints, |
Kurių nedaug, kaip džiaugsmas, beliko mums, Ir nyksta jie kaip raides senam laiške. Veide išaugo piktas medis, Šaknys išardė šventąją žemę. |
Of which so few, like pleasures, are
left for us, And they fade like the words in an old letter. A wicked tree grew on the face, Its roots ruptured the sacred earth. |
Dabar ir vėl atėjo žiema. Atskleisk Pečius ir lūpas nakčiai ir vėl žiūrėk, Kaip vakaras plaukais snieguotais Tyliai išeina juodom alėjom. |
Now winter has come again. Bare Your shoulders and lips to the night and watch again, As the evening with its snowy hair Quietly departs through the dark lanes. |
Ir vėl aš Tau rašysiu - taip, kaip kadais Ant drėgno lango pirštais, ir sutema Paslėps žymes takų ir žodžių, Veidrodžiui glostant negyvus plaukus. |
And again I will write for you -
write, as I once did With fingers on a damp window, and twilight Will hide the traces of the paths and of the words, While the mirror caresses lifeless hair. |

DULKIŲ SLUOKSNIS ANT SLENKSČIO | THE LAYER OF DUST ON THE THRESHOLD |
Dulkių sluoksnis ant slenksčio Auga kas metai. Stale parėjęs radau kažkieno Alkūnių žymes. Ašaros buvo išdžiūvę, Rauda pasmaugta. Ant lempos Suposi balta kartūno prijuoste, Mane staiga atpažinus, Pikta rugsėjo musė. |
The layer of dust on the threshold Grows each year. Returning, On the desk I found the marks Of someone's elbows. The tears were dried, The cry strangled. On the lamp Wrapped in a white chintz pinafore, Suddenly recognizing who I am, An angry September fly. |
